An Eye-Opening Multimedia Art Project by Thomas Sitte
Meeting artist and violinist Thomas Sitte is an eye-opening experience. Rather than polished, perfect surfaces, he is drawn to the textures, fractures, and history of lived experience. His art does not try to impress from the outside; it invites something deep from within to find expression.
The title plays on three German concepts that form the core of the project:
FUND (Found)
The discovery. Encountering discarded everyday items and seeing their hidden beauty.
STÜCK (Piece)
A crushed soda can, bent wire, rusty sheet metal, or old cutting boards. Piece by piece, Sitte combines found objects to create new worlds—humorous, profound, and always rooted in deep faith in God.
WERK (Work):
The complete artistic work. A collaboration with photographers, designers, musicians, speakers, printers, and bookbinders resulting in a multi-sensory experience.

About the Artist
Born in Dresden in 1952, Thomas Sitte studied violin at the Dresden University of Music while simultaneously studying graphic design and maintaining a close exchange with visual artists of the Dresden School. He served for over 40 years as a violinist and longtime concertmaster with the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock (1975–2016) while continuously developing his visual language in painting and sculpture. Since retiring from orchestra life, he resides and creates in his atelier in Leipzig and Dresden.
